1月14日(水) 18時より第97回先端医工学セミナーを開催いたします。

今回は、Asian Institute of Tele-Surgery (AITS/IRCAD) , TaiwanのHurng Sheng Wu教授をお招きして「Innovation in surgery and technology: Trend of surgical device and training institute」と題してご講演を賜ります。

講演タイトル:Innovation in surgery and technology: Trend of surgical device and training institute
抄録:Asian Institute of Tele-Surgery (AITS/IRCAD) is an institute founded both on the promotion of minimally invasive surgery through education and the ethical introduction of new medical device, procedures or technologies.
Modern 2D to 3D images, 4D ultrasound, CT scans, MRI and a fluorescence-based enhanced reality (FLER) is based on the use of a near-infrared laparscopic endoscope to detect the indocyanine green (ICG) fluorescence signal etc.
Surgery, gastroenterology and radiology independently developed advanced techniques: combining the best aspects of these techniques to form a hybrid approach will lead to maximum benefits for patients.
This new hybrid approach paradigm would need a radical change in the OP room concept and organization to carry out in a confined space: an imaging tool(CT or MRI) and laparscopic and endoscopic tools to perform targeted procedures.
Imaging medical software may elaborate a 3D virtual model of the patient from the Digital Imaging and Communication in Medicine (DICOM) format images. This 3D virtual model enables to navigate through the patient’s body and perform a virtual surgical exploration and simulation.
The 3D VR model may be superimposed with real-time patient’s images, giving the so called Augmented Reality, which allows to highlight target structures through modular organ transparency.  AR may be obtained from preoperative images or in real-time in the operating room. In digestive laparoscopic surgery, AR presents several challenges due to the respiratory motion and to the deformation of soft tissues during surgical manipulation. To overcome these issues, active research is underway to provide a consistent, accurate and flexible patient-specific anatomical reconstruction with real-time enhancement of intraoperative images.
